Foot and Ankle Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology Tape is an elastic therapeutic sports tape used to support muscles, tendons, and ligaments in the treatment of pain and disability from athletic injury.

What is KT Tape Made Of?

KT Tape is made of cotton and synthetic materials that create unidirectional elasticity. Unlike traditional rigid athletic tape, the elastic fibers of KT Tape stretch in length but not in width, giving KT Tape the advantage of providing stable support without restricting range of motion.

KT Tape is also formulated with a hypo-allergenic, latex-free adhesive designed to release moisture which is critical for wearability and comfort. As a result, KT tape can provide superior comfort for longer periods of time, as it can withstand humidity, sweat, and showers over multiple days of wear.

HOW DOES KT WORK?

When KT tape is properly applied, the elasticity in the KT tape gently lifts the skin, decompressing the layers of soft tissue below. This gentle lifting of the skin creates a space that enables the greater movement of blood and lymphatic fluid which then transports white blood cells throughout the body, removes waste products, cellular debris, and bacteria, and ultimately alleviates pressure and swelling.

Who should use KT tape and why use it?

KT tape can help support muscles and tendons as it provides pain relief and support with accelerated recovery so you don’t have to slow down. KT Tape is lightweight, comfortable to wear, and can be used to prevent or treat many common joint and muscle-related injuries including:

  • Ankle Sprains & Instability
  • Arthritic Pain
  • Bunions
  • Flat Feet or High Arches
  • Hammertoes
  • IT Band Syndrome
  • Knee Pain
  • Plantar Fasciitis (Arch/Heel Pain)
  • Shin Splints
  • Swelling & Lymphedema Tendonitis
